New News About Kodak Film

Kodak has just updated their Super 8 film page with a Vision 200T film. Here's the blurb from Kodak:

Notice that it's negative film, & as suspected, the price is up there. They're obviously competing directly w/ Pro8mm on the film. But this is the product they've been selling overseas for the last year.

Whether this means they'll be dropping K40 shortly or not is purely speculative.

Since this is a negetive film, and in color, will Kodak process it, if not, who should we go to for processing?

I believe that it's a very good sign the fact that Kodak has incorporated the 200 T Surveillance film to its Super 8 Web Page!
I believe that until the moment Kodak came observing the performance of this material from the market.
I suppose that now they have understood the importance that Super 8 film has acquired among the filmakers.
(For that reason they have decided to incorporate to the official catalog of their Web Page the Surveillance film for Super 8)
This means that we can expect from Kodak new products

kodak has been providing this 200t super-8 survielance film to consumers for quite some time now.
i purchased a number of rolls about 4+ years ago through kodak.
only problem is guess it is for the film to video world cause no one contact prints s-8 neg. anymore.
it will not replace kodachrome.
if im wrong about any of this please let me know ..especially regarding contact prints!

This is new for S8, but, as far as I can tell, identical to what's been sold for 16 & 35mm filmmakers for the last year or so. It's also what Pro8mm has been repackaging for S8 & selling at twice the price...

true, in the sense that it's not the old exr, but the new vision stock. false, since it's still been around for at least a year and a half. at least in europe.

Anybody knows what?s the real difference between the new Kodak Vision 200 T and the old EXR 200 T Surveillance film?

Will this come processed paid in the uk? Do you get a neg and a print returned from the lab? and if so can I cut/splice the neg and get a reprint from the edited neg?

This may all be very elementary but I am new to Super8.

Yale has been selling the stuff for a while. I know that Kodak would even sell it direct to the public you just had to buy something like 5000 rolls. Because it will use the same process as your other (16&35) stocks labs should be around to process it.
